It is natural that most of the women do not want to think about all the bad things what can happen to them, but bad things still happen every single day in the world. It is very important to know at least the basic stuff how to defend yourself. The best way to learn the basics of self defense is to join some martial art or self defense class in your area. Maybe you are lucky enough and don`t need these knowledge never but it is good to know that you are ready for the worse.

One of the great martial art is Jiu Jitsu. This is definitely good way to prepare yourself for the dangerous situations that could happen. Of course the learning is also fun! You will learn there how the weaker person can handle with the larger and stronger guy.
Most Jiu Jitsu classes start every training with some warm up. It is very important that you get your heart rate little up. In the same time you will burn a lot of body fat because the workout is very intensive. But this is only the good thing for the women usually. Most of the women wan`t to lose a few pounds:)
But what is more important, these movements and changing positions build very strong stamina! While you are building your muscles stronger, you will also learn some self defense moves like some take-downs, chokes and locks. At the end your body is much stronger and healthy and you have great knowledge about self defense.
In the Jiu Jitsu classe you also learn positsional training so you are able to overpower opponents. It doesn't matter how bigg or small you are. Of course If you want to learn more than is needed for self defense you can focus on professional competition. But no matter what level you are right now, you will learn how to take down an attacker and escape from a dangerous situations. It is very important that women know how to defend themselves.
